2ND - Smart Watch // Smart Design
Nina and I were looking at the CES coverage and were less than enthused at the new “smart watches” coming to market.
We were surprised that these devices were not aesthetically pleasing and had more in common with a phone than a watch. It reminded us of the old shows in the 60s that depicted a future in which everyone wore silver jumpsuits and spoke in monotone voices.
With that in mind, we designed 2ND, a smart watch that people would want to wear. The watch receives data from your phone through bluetooth and is displayed in a simple design. The bezel, crown, and stoppers provide easy navigation to access messages, weather, calendar, and email.
Design and technology are not mutually exclusive. We hope that 2ND influences smart watch design for the better.
This smart watch I would wear.
The Jimmy | Gold Coast - Chicago, IL.
Behind a velvet rope, a hidden door, a very tall doorman, and two steel curtains lies The Jimmy, a cocktail lounge that feels like it was transported straight from 1970.
Cool without being trendy, and classy without being stuffy, The Jimmy is a smaller lounge (only about 40 seats) that understands the importance of a good conversation and a stiff drink.
The entrance to The Jimmy is located inside Burke’s Bacon Bar.
